Working With Your Insurance Carrier

Carrier-by-carrier education for restoration claims: how the process typically runs and how Summit documents your loss to carrier standards.

Independent of every carrier

Summit Cleaning & Restoration is an independent restoration contractor. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a “preferred vendor” for any insurance carrier — deliberately, so our documentation and advocacy answer to you, the policyholder. This page is process education, not legal or policy advice: coverage always depends on your specific policy, and claim decisions are made by your carrier. For policy interpretation, talk to your agent or an Oregon-licensed professional.

What actually changes from carrier to carrier

The physics of your loss don't care who insures you — water migrates, soot etches, and mold follows moisture on the same timeline under every policy. What changes is process: how each carrier prefers losses reported, which documentation formats their adjusters work from, how supplements get reviewed, and how quickly funds release at each stage. Knowing those process differences up front removes most of the friction homeowners feel when a claim stalls or a scope comes back with questions.

Summit works claims with every major carrier operating in Oregon and Washington. We write estimates in the same industry-standard software carrier adjusters use, document to their standards, and communicate directly with your adjuster — so the scope conversation happens between professionals, with you informed rather than stuck in the middle.

Why independence matters here

Many restoration companies participate in insurance carrier preferred vendor programs, which can provide homeowners with a network of approved contractors. Summit has chosen to remain independent, allowing our team to develop each restoration scope based on the conditions we find at your property and the work needed to return it to pre-loss condition. When there are differences between our scope and the carrier's estimate, we document the conditions and supporting information clearly so those differences can be reviewed and resolved.

The carrier pages below explain how the claims process typically runs with each company. If your carrier isn't listed yet, nothing changes about how we document and coordinate the restoration side of your claim — call the 24-hour line or request a free inspection, and bring any estimate you already have.
